After sending the mares away for breeding, in this year I have been lucky enough to lease a stallion. Our guest for the breeding season 2023 is “Scott Creek Monarch Moody Blues”, owned by Julia Thomsen, Germany. He is a beautiful black pinto stallion, AMHA/AMHR registered, and was originally imported from Scott Creek Miniature Horses in the USA.
“Moody” is licensed in Germany and was very successfully shown back in the day when he was young. He has been shown in halter classes as well as driving, is WORLD Champion and multiple Reserve World Champion. In addition, his offspring have already won World Champion titles as well. As a now 17-year-old mature stallion, he was presented again in 2021 by his owner after a break of many years and was Grand Champion Stallion in Open & Amateur 2021 as well as Reserve Supreme Champion!!
His sire “Sierra Dawn Uno’s Monarch” is a living legend and has been one of the AMHA Top Ten sires for many years. His offspring are highly successful in the show ring and are also in great demand as breeding horses. He himself is a multiple AMHA National Champion (there was no World Show back then). There are few American Miniature Horses that, like Monarch, maintain their proportions and slender figure as adults, and truly look like a miniature-sized Arabian horse.
Moody’s dam “FLF Supremely Etched in Indigo” is an AMHA World Champion Producer and a one of a kind horse. Way ahead of her time, she still looked incredible at 18 after 9 foals as you can see in the photo. The quality of this extremely typey mare shows in all her foals.
I really like the horses bred by Scott Creek Farm and have had my eye on Moody for a while. So it’s a true pleasure to have this beautiful and kind little stallion with the big eyes here in the stable for a while. Hopefully he will do his job well and give us healthy and beautiful foals next year.
